Expressing Our Appreciation

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all of you who played an integral role in making this year's food drive at Thornton & Grooms an outstanding success. The collective effort and generosity displayed throughout June and July have left us astounded. Together, we managed to gather an impressive 2,145 items, totaling a remarkable 3,030 pounds – a significant milestone and new benchmark for Thornton & Grooms.

In a deliberate move to address summertime food insecurity in children, we rescheduled our food drive to June. This strategic shift aimed to align with CARES' mission to alleviate hunger during the summer months. The disconcerting reality highlighted by Feeding America, where 10.7 million children rely on free or reduced-price school breakfasts, underscores the urgency of our actions. As the school year concludes, these young minds face uncertainty about their next meal.

The non-perishable goods collected during this initiative have been delivered to CARES of Farmington Hills, an organization dedicated to providing food to nearly 700 families every month across Oakland County. Our hearts swell with gratitude for the invaluable contributions made by our customers and colleagues, as your support has made a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.

While this year's food drive may be ending, our commitment to serving the community remains resolute. We hope that you will stand by us in our future endeavors to combat summertime food insecurity and provide solace to those affected. Together, we can make a lasting impact and extend our helping hand where it's needed most.
