How does this error code happen?
If your home experiences a power outage or power surge, Error Code 163 may appear on your thermostat, indicating a refrigerant-related issue. In most cases, this is not an actual refrigerant problem.
Simply follow the steps shown in the video to reset the system and clear the error code. If your home experiences another power interruption in the future, the code may reappear. Lennox is aware of this issue and is currently working on a software update to help prevent it from occurring after power outages or surges.
