Volunteering with Life Remodeled to Clean Up Blight
On Wednesday, September 30th, seven team members from Thornton & Grooms joined thousands of other volunteers to support Life Remodeled. This local nonprofit turns well-known buildings into opportunity hubs that help Detroit families thrive. Their newest hub is called Anchor Detroit.
Each year during the Six-Day Project, volunteers help clean up the neighborhoods around the hub. Our team cut back overgrown brush, mowed lawns, swept up broken glass, and picked up trash and tires in the empty lots near Anchor Detroit. Their work made the area safer and cleaner for families living nearby.
"We’ve been participating in Life Remodeled's annual six-day project for over 10 years. It’s a great opportunity for our team to roll up our sleeves, help the community, and build richer relationships with each other."
Every Thornton & Grooms team member gets two days of paid time off each year to volunteer. The Six-Day Project is a team favorite, and we plan to keep supporting it in the future.
