811 Pounds of Dog Food Donated to Metro-Detroit Animal Shelters
Thornton & Grooms wants to extend a “thank you” to our customers who participated in our first Unclog for Dogs promotion. Over six weeks this spring, every unclog we performed helped to raise funds for the purchase and donation of 811 pounds of dog food.
Candace Hunerberg, Director of Marketing at Thornton & Grooms, explains, “Our team loves animals, and we love giving back to our local community. The Unclogs for Dogs promotion was designed as a fun way to combine our community giving initiatives with our already existing $99 drain unclog marketing campaign.”
The dog food donations were delivered by Thornton & Grooms to two Metro-Detroit animal rescues. “The animal rescue groups were nominated by our team members. These were places where our employees either volunteered before or adopted animals from in the past,” said Candace.
Almost Home Animal Rescue, located in West Bloomfield, will use the dog food donations in the goodie bags given to its foster parent volunteers.
Haven of Love Dog Rescue, located in Garden City, will be using the dog food donations to help feed the dogs they rescue.
The success of this promotion and the relationships we built with two local non-profit groups will be valuable as we prepare for our next event later this year.
