Whole-House Air Purifier FAQs

  • A whole-house air purifier integrates with your HVAC system. When the HVAC system’s fan runs, it pulls air from throughout your home through return registers into the system. The air passes through the filtration unit, which catches dust, pollen, pet dander, and mold spores. After filtration, the purified air is distributed back into the home through your vents.

  • Opting for professional whole-house air purifier installation ensures the unit you choose is correctly sized for your home and installed correctly. Improperly sized units or incorrect installation can reduce the unit’s effectiveness, cause leaks, or create safety issues.

  • Air purifier installation costs vary depending on the model you choose, the unit size your home needs, and any necessary modifications, such as duct adjustments or electrical work. During a service visit, we will provide a personalized estimate to help you plan for installation costs and discuss flexible financing options.

  • Routine maintenance helps ensure your air purifier delivers consistent performance. This includes replacing filters every six or 12 months, depending on usage and the manufacturer’s instructions, along with annual system checks. Scheduling regular inspections with Thornton & Grooms helps you protect your investment by catching issues early, letting you keep the air in your home clean and healthy.
